How we work
Sources
Facts come from primary sources: government agencies (FTC, IRS, SBA, DOL) for rules, and the vendor's own website or docs for software features and prices. Established press and named research reports are used for some claims, with the original study named. Forums, social posts and unknown blogs are only ever a starting lead, never a source. Every page lists its sources with the date we checked them.
Freshness
Software prices and plans change often. Every price on this site is shown "as of" the date we checked it, and pages carry a badge with that date. Anything older than 30 days is re-checked, updated or removed.
Who writes this
Drafts are researched and written with AI assistance, then checked against their sources and approved by a person before they're published. Nothing goes live without human approval.
"Tested"
We only say we tested something when we actually ran it ourselves. Otherwise, pages describe what the vendor states and say so.
Affiliate links
Some links earn us a commission. Pages with affiliate links say so before the first link. We never recommend a tool only because it pays, and every recommendation names one honest limitation and a free or cheaper option when there is one. Full disclosure.
Corrections
If something's wrong, tell us. We'll check the source and fix it, and the page's "Updated" date will change.
